Conference Schedule

The conference starts with an optional day of skill building workshops, followed by 2 days of talks and interactive sessions.

9:30am - 4:30pm
Intro to Google Design Sprints

Many people are familiar with Design Sprints from the GV book Sprint, a fantastic resource for people looking to learn how to run their own Sprints. Inside Google we teach a slightly different flavor of the methodology which is optimized for working within a larger organization. In this 6 hour workshop, you will have the opportunity to try out the Google Design Sprint methodology, in order to build muscle memory, gain familiarity with the methods, and walk away with a set of tools you can incorporate into your product development process. We will cover the framework, when to use Sprints and what they can accomplish.

9:30am - 4:30pm
Advanced Facilitation

Facilitation is the discipline of designing conversations. But how do we mindfully and intentionally design human dialogue? What are the levers of design and the principles to guide us? Over the past two years Daniel has been interviewing people on The Conversation Factory podcast to peel back the layers of conversation design and to discover principles for shaping conversations. We'll spend a day focused on the principles of transformative facilitation and work together to practice them mindfully. You’ll leave with a core set of tools and mindsets to apply in your facilitation practice.

9:30am - 4:30pm
Graphic Recording

This hands-on workshop introduces participants to graphic recording (also called “scribing” or live visual note taking). Participants practice listening, drawing and lettering skills and how to combine all three to create engaging, large-scale graphics in real time. Each participant receives a starter kit with everything they need and no previous drawing experience is required.

9:30am - 4:30pm
The BMI Training

Did you ever run a meeting or a workshop that did not exactly go the way your planned it? Your team didn’t follow your lead, some people were distracted or outright trying to disrupt the flow? You didn’t manage to get the desired results? And then afterwards you wished you’d moderated the discussions or exercises more effectively? If you want to establish yourself as a stronger facilitator and learn how to be more professional at leading business gatherings then this training is for you!

THE BMI TRAINING B: Body language, M: messages and I: impressions. Three important topics, which cover key aspects of facilitation ensuring that you appear confident and professional in front of your audience.

The BMI facilitation training focuses on all three elements and is full to the brim with practical information and application to improve your next facilitation. You will leave training feeling more confident having expanded your facilitation skills.
